“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

T.S. Eliot

New Moon in Gemini June 6, 2024

This New Moon has a lot of energy with! Gemini by nature is a high energy sign, ruled by Mercury, it moves very quickly and likes to get into just about everything. Think toddler energy. It is a young sign, being towards the beginning of the zodiac. The spark of conception happened in Aries, discovering physical form takes place in Taurus and now in Gemini we want to explore and take in as much information as we can. We will talk to everyone we encounter and make friends just as easily. It’s a curious energy, but also fleeting and onto the next thing as our attention span hasn’t quite learned to focus. Gemini is a mutable air sign, meaning its influence takes place in the mental realm (air) and cannot be tied down for long (mutable). It is our thoughts and ideas, the way that we communicate and understand, our desire to explore and inquire. Gemini and Mercury are how we tell the story of ourselves, our lives and how we perceive our lived experience.

Both our Sun and Moon are sitting in this fun, childlike energy for the New Moon and with them will be Venus, the planet of love, beauty and harmony, in an exact conjunction at 16 degrees. Mercury, Gemini’s ruler and Jupiter, the planet representing our faith and beliefs, will be close by, forming a stellium of five celestial bodies in the sign of our New Moon. It really is an incredible energy and one you will want to work with. Whenever our two benefics, Venus and Jupiter, are involved in the same lunation, you will want to work with this energy in a big way and take advantage of all the blessings that are bound to come your way.

So on this New Moon, it's time to tell the new story about yourself. The one where you are not defined by your suffering, you are not burdened by circumstance or bruised by abuse. Tell the story on the other side of this, after you have overcome your challenges and are smarter and stronger because of it. Books and movies always seem to end at this point, glorifying and romanticizing the struggle, because its what we can relate to. We love the happy ending, but the story is hardly ever told beyond that. What does that look like for you? Tell that story. Describe the amazing things you are now capable of, the incredible accomplishments and the triumphs. What does life look like without the stress and the chaos? What do you do if you are not running crazy in every direction all at once? What does it feel like to have space to choose and to have options to choose from? You are the one who gets to experience this life, so what is it that you want to experience?

You don’t have to have the answer to every one of these questions, nor do you need to know exactly what it looks like. But on this New Moon, with all this energy in Gemini, opening our minds to the possibilities will be easier than ever. And the likelihood of the Universe grabbing on to one of these ideas is all but certain as Jupiter has recently moved into the sign of Gemini and will be there for the next year. Although Jupiter is often associated with fortune, good luck, expansion, and abundance, we also need to remember that it is associated with our beliefs and our faith, in ourselves and in the world around us. For the last year, Jupiter has been in Taurus, a fixed earth sign, very heavy, grounded, rooted. Far too stubborn to make change quick and easy. Now that it is in a mutable air sign, our minds are more malleable and open to take on a new direction. Changing the narrative is easier than ever now. So, if you are someone who desires change in your life, find the answers to the questions. Tell the new story and give it to this New Moon, let her and all her cohorts run with it and create a life for you to experience that is wilder than your imagination.
